Your Right to a
Good Faith Estimate
As a client at Transitional Characters, you have the right to know what your care will cost—upfront.
Under federal law, all health care providers must give uninsured or self-pay clients an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy.
What This Means for You:
You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency services—including therapy and mental health support.
You can ask for an estimate before scheduling your appointment.
If you receive a bill that’s $400 or more above your estimate, you have the right to dispute it. Be sure to save a copy or photo of your Good Faith Estimate for your records.
