A quick note about finding your therapist at TC:

We have a dedicated intake team to examine what you are seeking as a client. While there may be a certain modality, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) or ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) you are seeking, please note that ALL OF TC’s THERAPISTS practice with these modalities in mind, though liberation psychology calls upon many different forms of therapy and does not limit itself to one or two modalities.

Clients often come with a particular therapist in mind– however, availability may be limited and many times there’s another clinician (therapist) who actually suits their needs even better.

Please trust the process.

What to expect from me

My name is Lydia Gibson (she/her) and I am an Ohio-born, Pennsylvania-raised, cis-white woman. I have a Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology (MSCP) from Chatham University.

What I’m Passionate About

Throughout my years as a performing artist, educator, yoga instructor, reiki and sound practitioner, and now therapist, I have come to understand that the journey of personal growth is one that I value most in life. I believe we’re meant to do the self-work not just on our own but together, connecting and healing in community. I see spiritual, mental, emotional, and physical well-being as intertwined; thus my work aims to honor the whole person.

My Therapy Style

I believe therapy should always be a collaborative process in which we create a plan to help empower you to seize the authentic life you’ve been wanting to live. I value honesty in self, communication with others, and a willingness to challenge and be challenged in order to grow.

In our sessions, we will lean into the mind-body connection using modalities such as: strength based, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), parts work, attachment theory, somatic experiencing, mindfulness, and trauma informed practices.

Who I Work With

We might be a good fit if you:

  • Have a desire to deconstruct the parts of your conditioning that leave you disconnected with your true self and others.

  • Are feeling anxious, depressed, or stuck

  • Want to learn more about your strengths and how to embrace them.

  • Need help finding constructive coping mechanisms for life’s challenges.

  • Want to go on the journey of getting to the root of your suffering and finding a more liberated way of being.

  • Are a couple looking for healthy communication and relationship skills, especially if navigating ethical non-monogamy (ENM)

  • Are interested in healing your traumas both personal and generational.

I would be honored to work together to uncover and rewrite the self stories and systems of oppression that keep you pinned down, and embrace what makes you unique and strong.
