A quick note about finding your therapist at TC:
We have a dedicated intake team to examine what you are seeking as a client. While there may be a certain modality, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) or ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) you are seeking, please note that ALL OF TC’s THERAPISTS practice with these modalities in mind, though liberation psychology calls upon many different forms of therapy and does not limit itself to one or two modalities.
Clients often come with a particular therapist in mind– however, availability may be limited and many times there’s another clinician (therapist) who actually suits their needs even better.
Please trust the process.

What to expect from me
Hello! My name is Megan (she/her), and I’m a white, queer, fat, cis woman currently pursuing my Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling at Carlow University. Originally from Scranton, PA, I’ve called Pittsburgh home for the past sixteen years. I’m honored to be part of the Transitional Characters team and look forward to supporting you on your therapeutic journey.
What I’m Passionate About
I’m passionate about fostering a collaborative healing space where clients can explore their identities, process trauma, and navigate the impacts of systemic oppression. Together, we’ll work to connect with your values, resilience, and inner strengths, creating a path toward growth and self-discovery.
My Therapy Style
I strive to create a therapeutic relationship rooted in trust, respect, warmth, and affirmation. My approach blends feminist, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS) practices with a deep understanding of cultural and relational dynamics.
Who I Work With
I am particularly drawn to addressing challenges that intersect with trauma, identity, and systemic inequities. My work includes navigating mental health concerns like anxiety, depression, disordered eating, and body image struggles, as well as the impacts of gender and sexual trauma, chronic illness, and grief. I aim to create a compassionate and nonjudgmental space to explore these complex issues, helping clients untangle the interconnected layers of their experiences.
My goal is to empower individuals to better understand and accept themselves, develop healthy coping strategies, and move toward healing and growth that aligns with their unique needs and values. I approach these challenges holistically by acknowledging both the personal and systemic factors that shape each person’s experience.
Me When I’m Not Being a Therapist
I find peace cooking for my partner, reading anything that catches my eye, and snuggling with my three cats. When I’m in an extroverted mood, I enjoy shooting pool or traveling with friends. I gain perspective and guidance through nature and movement, which keep me grounded and inspired. As a continuous learner, I’m always seeking new ways to grow both personally and professionally, drawing on my experiences and curiosity to better serve others. I love to create beauty, connection, and community—whether through nurturing relationships, meaningful work, or colorful creations that bring warmth and joy to my home and life.
I’m excited for the opportunity to meet and work with you!
