A quick note about finding your therapist at TC:
We have a dedicated intake team to examine what you are seeking as a client. While there may be a certain modality, such as CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) or ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) you are seeking, please note that ALL OF TC’s THERAPISTS practice with these modalities in mind, though liberation psychology calls upon many different forms of therapy and does not limit itself to one or two modalities.
Clients often come with a particular therapist in mind– however, availability may be limited and many times there’s another clinician (therapist) who actually suits their needs even better.
Please trust the process.

What to expect from me
Who Am I?
Hi, my name is Sam (they/them. I am originally from eastern Virginia and spent my young adult years in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia, so that’s where I call home. I moved to Pittsburgh pretty recently and am still finding my footing in the city.
I am a doctoral student in Counseling Psychology at Chatham University. In this stage of my training, I am qualified to provide clinical mental health counseling under the supervision of a licensed supervisor.
My Therapy Style
My therapy style is integrative, which is a fancy way of saying intuitively blending the greatest hits from various modalities. I believe you are an expert in your life and I’m here to help you answer the hard questions. In walking along side you in your journey, I’ll also provide supportive challenge or reframe when appropriate. You’ve gotten yourself this far, so we’ll work together to center your strengths throughout your therapeutic journey.
Who I Work With
I work with folks who are ready to make changes and shifts in their lives. My values include increasing access to mental health for historically marginalized clients (BIPOC, LGBTQ+, etc.). I do believe in learning and growing, so I will work with anyone open to furthering self-discovery, deepening their well of self-compassion, and finding joy in some unexpected places.
Me When I’m Not a Therapist
When I’m not providing therapy, I go where the wind blows. Some days that means trying new recipes or food spots, or trying new trails. During the summer, I like to be on my paddleboard or kayak.
